QUESTIONS ABOUT THE GUIDE

What is an avoidant?

An avoidant is someone who struggles with emotional closeness. They might care about you, but when things get too serious, too vulnerable or when there’s conflict or tension - they pull away.

They distance themselves because closeness feels unsafe to them. Instead of working through it, they often shut down, create distance, or act like they don't need anyone even when they do. It's not about you. It's their way of protecting themselves from feeling overwhelmed.

Is this guide a workbook or reading material?

It’s both! The guide includes both reading material and interactive exercises to help you understand what may have happened in your relationship with an avoidant, reflect on your own patterns, and gain clarity on how to move forward in a way that aligns with who you are. But it’s not just theory, there are also journaling prompts, self-reflection exercises, and practical action steps to help you process your experiences and actively create positive changes in your life. It’s designed to be interactive, so you’re not just reading but also applying what you learn.

How long does it take to go through Life After Loving an Avoidant?

The guide is 165 pages long, but the time it takes to complete depends on how deeply you engage with the exercises. While you can read through it fairly quickly, the real value comes from the self-reflection and practical exercises, which are designed to be taken at your own pace.

Some people read through it quickly, but truly engaging with the exercises can take much longer. Many spend several days or even weeks on a single exercise, allowing time for reflection and real change before moving on to the next section.

Hopeful

As someone who was in and out of a relationship with who has an avoidant attachment style, this guide really spoke to me. Very focused on the reader and the needs of the reader. The exercises kept me busy and made me reflect on myself, the relationship and what it is I want.

Moved on!

A very practical guide. I was very hurt by my ex. Anyone who has been with an aoidant knows how difficult it is to move on. Especially since it's so hard to get closure from them. It definitely kept me on my toes and for the longest of time, I could not stop hoping and wishing for a different outcome.

This guide helped me to realize what a healthy relationship should look like and gave me the confidence to believe that such a relationship can one day be mine. I no longer wait for my ex to come back. I can breathe again!!!
